Street Eyes Exhibit – Typographers, Photographers and Illustrators Unite

Street Eyes, which takes place on December 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. in Manchester’s Chatham Mill, will feature 30 pieces of art, many of which will be for sale to help Add-Art’s charitable endeavours.

Anna Devís and Daniel Rueda, two of the biggest names in typography, art, and photography, come together for Micah Purnell’s Street Eyes exhibit this December. Micah Purnell has been curating Add-Art, an outdoor art initiative, for the past ten years. In addition, he has assembled thirty works for Street Eyes. Read on for more information about this event.

What Does The Street Eyes Exhibit Involve?

The Street Eyes exhibition honours street art’s ability to reshape public areas and offer underrepresented groups a voice. The exhibition also highlights the street art movement’s inventiveness and diversity. This unique retrospective will take place in the heart of Manchester in December to commemorate this historic achievement.

Graphic designer Micah Purnell approaches things a little differently, and has been enhancing people’s lives by bringing art outdoors for everyone to view with his Add-Art project. With the help of specially designed websites, Micah and Add-Art have placed the works of top photographers, typographers, and illustrators in the spaces often used for advertisements. For the past ten years, it has provided entertainment for onlookers as a deft and inventive method of displaying international musicians.

These amazing pieces will be on show at Street Eyes as part of a retrospective highlighting Add-Art’s output over the previous ten years. Visual artists including Matt Blease, Supermundane, Murugiah, and Stanley Chow; typographers like Anthony Burrill, Gemma O’Brien, and Dave Towers; and photographers like Anna Devís and Daniel Rueda, Yener Torun, and many more will have their works on display for visitors to the Street Eyes exhibit.

In addition to the highlighted art pieces, Street Eyes commemorates the building of Add-Art’s most recent outdoor gallery, which features three recently put together exhibitions. Among these are the whimsical, hand-painted type art Nope by David Towers, the expressive abstract picture Compass by Al Maser, and the piece Subverting the Rainbow by designer Sarah Boris. The Mustard Tree and the Giving Tree will be exhibited at Chatham Mill.
