The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition – London Until 17th August 2025
This summer, the UK’s most popular art event will return. The Summer Exhibition, which has been held annually since 1769, showcases a diverse range of contemporary artwork, including prints, paintings, films, photographs, sculptures, and architectural designs. It features works by both established artists and emerging artists.
There will be numerous pieces for sale, and the proceeds will go directly towards the exhibiting artists’ philanthropic endeavours and the Royal Academy’s efforts to educate the next generation of artists.
Grayson Perry – Delusions of Grandeur – The Wallace Collection, Manchester Until 26th October 2025
Delusions of Grandeur features 40 new compositions by Sir Grayson Perry (1960). The museum’s largest modern exhibition features ceramics, tapestries, and works on paper, including classics from Perry’s collection that inspired this show—the exhibition explores artistry and perfectionism. Handcrafted pieces lie alongside computerised ones, contrasting an item made using thousands of hours of work to one made with a single click.
Delusions of Grandeur, the artist’s 65th birthday work, elaborates on the process of producing and acquiring art. The exhibition, which explores themes including the gendering of decoration, is a milestone for one of the country’s most esteemed artists.
Jenny Saville – The Anatomy of Painting – The National Portrait Gallery, London 20th June – 20th September 2025
A highly significant museum exhibition in the UK devoted to one of the most renowned contemporary artists in the world, Jenny Saville. Her successful degree show at the Glasgow School of Art helped her gain notoriety in the early 1990s. Since then, she has been instrumental in reviving figurative painting, a genre she continues to experiment with today. Her extraordinary talent for using thick coats of paint to create emotive portraits indicates an artist passionate about the art form.
This chronological display features works that challenge historical ideas of feminine beauty, the massive nudities that brought Saville fame in 1992, and new pieces on display, ranging from charcoal drawings to large-scale oil paintings of the human figure.
Jenny Saville: The Anatomy of Painting explores her relationship to art history, highlights key artworks, and charts her artistic evolution. This exhibition features pieces from private and public collections worldwide.
